Liam Campbell is an Executive Parks and Landscape Officer for Fingal County Council’s Parks and Green Infrastructure Division. He led a team in the authorship of Space for Play – A Play Policy for Fingal. A personal and professional interest in the provision of play for our young people, led Liam to undertake the research for and development of the play policy.
Liam began his career in landscape management as a landscaper in Galway and consolidated the experience acquired “on the tools” with a degree in Horticulture, Sportsturf and Landscape Management at UCD. Subsequently he worked as an estimator for a Dublin based Landscaping company and went on to employment in Fingal County Council where he currently works on the Capital Projects Team.
Jeanette Fich Jespersen is the head of the KOMPAN Play Institute, a team of passionate play researchers. Jeanette researches, innovates and advocates playscapes. She served on the scientific committees and organizing boards on several international organizations and conferences on child friendly city planning. She authored numerous publications on playground and health, inclusion and well-being in an urbanizing world.
The research of the KOMPAN Play Institute informs KOMPAN play design, through user tests and user involvement.
Jeanette is an MA of Scandinavian philology and taught at universities in Germany and Denmark before she joined KOMPAN. She has worked on several boards, among others as the vice president of the European Network for Child Friendly Cities and the Child in the City Conferences and The International Play Association. She was a member of the advisory board of the Centre for Sports and Learning at the University of Southern Denmark.
